Announcing the 2022 clay Photography Competition!

Hello TPS Photographers!

I’m excited to announce that the 2022 clay Photography Competition begins today! A photograph without a story is without heart and soul. Photography freezes time and locks the emotion and conflict of a moment into a single frame, and through that, we, the photographers, tell impactful stories from an event as simple as a family gathering to extraordinary circumstances such as the Ukrainian frontline. Therefore, this year, there will be no categories, no themes, and the only requirement is for your photo to tell a story.

Photo Requirements

Each photographer is allowed to submit one photo, which must be taken between the start of the 2021-22 school year and the competition deadline (August 23rd 2021 – April 1st 2022). Contestants may edit their pictures in postprocessing and submit in either colored or black and white. However, all submissions must be in the JPEG/JPG format, and any contestants who fail to meet the requirements and deadline will be disqualified.

Your photo must capture a story, but the word is not limited to its conventional interpretation as in “having a plot.” Your story may be an emotion, a conflict, a mood, a thought, or an idea, and you may express it in whatever way you choose, such as landscape, portrait, or street photography. The creative control is completely in your hands.

Judging and Voting Process

After the deadline of April 1st, the Senior Editors and I will select five to ten of the best submissions for a schoolwide vote to determine the final winner. The voting process will begin with its announcement on April 4th and continue for almost three weeks, including the two-week spring break, ending on April 22nd.

Winning

With the exception of a tie, there will only be one winner for this year’s competition. The winner will be announced on April 25th with a post featuring his or her winning work and will receive a shoutout by the clay PR Team on our social media platforms.
