Mercy: Good morning, good evening, good afternoon, and good night, everybody. Wherever you may be in the world and whatever time you may be at, this month’s special guest is Gabriella Covert!
Gabriella: Hi!
Mercy: All right let’s get down to business: age, grade, and where you live.
Gabriella: I’m twelve, in sixth grade, and I live in South Carolina.
Mercy: Nice! Do you have any siblings?
Gabriella: Yep, I have three: Elijah, Jasmine, and Baron.
Mercy: Cool. What TPS classes are you taking this year?
Gabriella: Introduction to General Science, Reading in Action 6, Math Fundamentals 6, Elementary Humanities History and Literature of Asia and the Middle East, Art and Artists, and Writing Exploration 6.
Fred: Wow, that’s a lot. Man, it feels good to say that again.
Mercy: Hehe, sorry I keep stealing your line. Anyway, what’s a fun fact about you, Gabriella?
Gabriella: I have three dogs.
Fred: Oo, that’s fun. If you could sum yourself up in 3 words, what would they be?
Gabriella: Oh, I’d say adventurous, a Swiftie, and social.
Mercy: Speaking of being a Swiftie, what’s your favorite Taylor Swift song?
Gabriella: Oo, that’s a hard one. I love Mastermind.
Mercy: Nice. What are some of your talents?
Gabriella: Kickboxing, volleyball, taking care of animals, and writing.
Fred: Kickboxing, nice. That’s cool. What about your hobbies?
Gabriella: I play guitar, and I want to start learning piano.
Mercy: If money was no object, what would you do all day?
Gabriella: Hm, probably go shopping because I haven’t done that in a while.
Mercy: Sounds like a good plan to me. What’s a fun story that’s happened in your life?
Gabriella: When I was getting my dog, he was standing up on the gate, staring at me, and barking. When I went in, he jumped on me and licked my face. That’s how I knew he was the one.
Mercy: That’s sweet.
Fred: Can you list some of your favorites?
Gabriella: The color blue, dogs, kickboxing, and Mexico.
Mercy: Nice. Alright, who’s someone you want to be like, and why?
Gabriella: Ok, don’t take this the wrong way. Like, I’m not a super-fan Swfitie or anything, but I’d say Taylor Swift because she’s so successful and such a nice person.
Mercy: I totally get that. What’s you favorite Bible verse?
Gabriella: I’d say Matthew 5: 1-10, “Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Mercy: Ahh, yes. The beatitudes are always great verses.
Fred: Well, I think that’s about it. Anything else you want to say to the readers?
Gabriella: Always be kind and go on an adventure, because you don’t always have life to live.
Mercy: Great advice.
