The Word From the Start of Time

Emptiness

Gushing out

In a

Newborn,

Never-ending

Inscription of the

Name of

Glory

 

A Word in darkness,

The voice of the Creator,

Beginning of all.

 

Powerful it is

To be called the name of God,

To be Him at once.

 

The Word was present, 

With and one with God “I AM,”

And in that being:

 

The Lord made all things.

By His Word the Lord proclaimed

All things to be made.

 

In the beginning

The Word was everlasting

Life with Almighty God.

 

The Word in darkness

Was the foundation of light

For all to walk in.

 

Light has no darkness,

But it overcomes the dark;

The Word shines through sin.

 

The foundation – light –

Threatens the power of man;

For the Word triumphs.

 

Yet it came to earth;

In perfect humility

The Word became flesh.

 

In humility

The Word in glory gave up

His crown and power

 

That all might see light

For their redemption in Him

And to spread the Word.

 

The Word from the start –

That wonderful grace and truth –

Is to be spoken.

 

It remains the Word:

Ever from the beginning

It conquers darkness.

 

So shall we seek to be witness to the Word on this new beginning day.

Dwell among us

          In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father full of grace and truth.
