Meet Elizabeth Lei: Science and Technology Columnist

Meet Elizabeth Lei, clay’s Science and Technology columnist! This is the sixteen-year-old junior’s second year with TPS, and her first writing for clay. She is taking three classes with TPS: AP U.S. History, AP Macro and Microeconomics, and AP Literature. Additionally, she attends dual enrollment Physics and Calculus classes at her local community college.

Outside of school, Elizabeth enjoys a number of hobbies. She is a self-professed stress baker, avid Lord of the Rings fan, 5k runner, and peanut butter lover. Her two favorite novels are both historical fiction set in World War II: The Book Thief and All the Light We Cannot See. Although born and raised in Texas, Elizabeth dreams of traveling the world and experiencing the diverse cultures and natural wonders that so many places have to offer.

In times of hardship, Elizabeth turns to Isaiah 40:30-31 for encouragement: “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in The Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” For her, these verses serve as a reminder of God’s steady hand of blessing and comfort on his people.

As someone who loves to read and write, Elizabeth aims to use her talents to glorify God and to be the salt and light of the world. She is excited to join the clay community and hopes that through her writing, she can both entertain and inform readers.

  1. Welcome Elizabeth! I too love the Book Thief and All the Light We Cannot See (currently doing a reread of both at the same time). Can’t wait to read your articles!
