Grace Kim: Hamilton, Dark Chocolate, and Nail Art

Mercy: Hello everyone! I am officially back.

Fred: And so am I. Also, quick side note Mercy, we need to talk about that little conversation we had at the end of last year. And for everyone who doesn’t remember, I am Sir George Chalupa Nickelback Frederickson CCLXLIV! And yes, I am, indeed, a llama.

Mercy: Haha, no we don’t. So, for this month the special guest is Grace Kim!

Grace: Hi everyone!

Mercy: Oh also, quick note to everyone who remembers my older brother. He’s busy with college and things so he won’t make any more cameos. Sorry about that. Anyway, clay must go on without him. So, Grace, you’ve read my articles, you know how this works. Age, grade, and where you live. Go!

Grace: I’m 15, in 10th grade, and I live in Kazakhstan.

Mercy: Nice, same age as my brother.

Micah: Did you mention me?

Mercy: Technically yes. Oh, also! For everyone who doesn’t know, I have three older brothers. Joshua’s in college and won’t be appearing anymore. But Luke and Micah probably will so now you know who they are.

Grace: Hey Micah!

Micah: Hi. Wait, you have multiple brothers too, right?

Grace: Yeah, I have two older brothers. How’d you know?

Mercy: Because Micah is amazing, and he’s been in a bunch of my articles. Like remember that one time you turned into an elf?

Fred: Oh, that was awesome.

Grace: Hey, I remember reading about that. It was pretty funny.

Micah, cringing: Yeah. Awesome and funny aren’t exactly the words I would use to describe it.

Mercy: Ah, good memories. Anyway, what TPS classes are you taking this year, Grace?

Grace: Algebra 2, Chemistry, World History, Russian 2, English 4,5,6, Advanced Composition.

Mercy: Wow, that’s a lot of classes!

Fred: Hey! That’s my line.

Mercy: You gotta talk faster.

Fred: But you’re the one who always says, “Talk less, smile more.”

Mercy: I say that because it’s a quote.

Fred: From what?

Mercy: Uh, Hamilton. Only the best musical ever. Ah, I love Hamilton.

Grace: No way. I love Hamilton too!

Mercy: That’s cool! What’s a fun fact about you?

Grace: Well, I’m obsessed with Marvel.

Mercy: Ooo, I love Marvel too. If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?

Grace: I would say sweet, sarcastic, and loyal.

Mercy: I absolutely agree with that. But you’re also very fun to tease. There’s a word for that isn’t there?

Grace: You really never give up do you?

Mercy, smirking: Never gonna give you up.

Grace, Oh shoot, I walked right into that.

Micah: Never gonna let you down!

Fred: Never gonna run around,

Micah and Fred together: And desert you!

Grace: Wow, you just rick-rolled everyone.

Mercy: I know. Wasn’t it great? I mean, you know. We’re no strangers to love. You know the rules.

Grace: Nope. Not going to-

Micah, from another room: And so do I!

Mercy, laughing: I love my brother.

Grace: Yeah, everyone knows that.

Mercy: Hey, trust me I could annoy you so much more.

Grace: Oh, I don’t doubt that.

Mercy, smiling: Anyway, what’s next? Ah yes, what are some of your talents?

Grace: I would probably say nail art.

Mercy: I would definitely say nail art. Your talent for that is amazing.

Grace: Aw, thanks!

Mercy: Of course. What’re some of your hobbies?

Grace: Hobbies let’s see… reading, hanging out with friends, CrossFit, and fashion, I suppose.

Mercy: Sounds like a fun person to be around.

Grace: One minute you’re mocking me the next minute you’re saying I’m a fun person to be around. Make. Up. Your. Mind.

Mercy, jokingly shocked: I think you should just take the compliment and don’t question it.

Luke walks in randomly: Mercy’s weird, we all know this.

Mercy: That wasn’t exactly the reaction I was going for but thanks anyway. So, Grace, if money was no object, what would you do all day?

Grace: I’d probably go on a shopping spree, and then visit my friends all over the world.

Mercy: Like me?

Grace: Of course.

Mercy: Sounds like a pretty fun day. Can you list some of your favorites?

Grace: Blue, dark chocolate, Marvel, and fall.

Mercy: Ooo, I love dark chocolate. So, who’s someone you want to be like?

Grace: I would say my mom.

Mercy: Nice, what about your favorite Bible verse?

Grace: 2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”

Mercy: Beautiful. Well, is there anything else you would like to say to the readers?

Grace: Good luck with school and hi to all my friends that are reading.

Mercy: Well, thanks for coming in. You were so much fun to interview.

Grace: Yeah, and to tease.

Mercy, smiling: Always!
