Meet Isabel Goshi: Open Mic Editor

She looks American but she lives in Morocco, meet Isabel Goshi! Originally, Isabel is from the land of horses, Kentucky, but in 2014, her family moved to Morocco for her father’s work, and she has spent the past nine years of her fifteen years of life there. Isabel harnessed this life change to be an ambassador for Christ and to light Morocco with God’s love. Whether it is America or Morocco or even TPS, Isabel is dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

In addition to a disciple of Christ, Isabel would describe herself as an adamant bookworm. She loves to read, especially the Maze Runner series, and escape in the pages. Her vivid imagination allows her to live a multitude of adventures with only a book. Reading has been her favorite hobby since she learned how at three years old, thanks to PBS kids and Bob books. Isabel speaks three languages, English, French and Arabic, and is learning Spanish; additionally, this current school year she will try her hand at Chinese 1 (Honors) with TPS. Isabel’s other classes this year include AP World History, English 4/5/6 College British Lit and Composition, Chemistry (Honors), AP French Language and Culture, and Precalculus (Honors).

When she is not buried in the homework of her six demanding TPS classes or diving into her next book, Isabel loves to play her ukelele. She has been perfecting the art of the uke for the past two years and also enjoys playing the piano every so often.

Isabel’s favorite verse is 1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” Isabel more than loves this verse but she embodies it by using her gifts to serve clay as Open Mic Editor. When asked what she wanted to bring to clay, she responded, “First and foremost, I hope that I can be an ambassador for Christ through my communication with others, that they would see not me, but Christ in me. I also hope this year I can give my fellow students the opportunity to shine in a world that sometimes says that they’re not enough or that they don’t deserve to be seen.”
