A Conversation with Mrs. Selby

Welcome to the teacher interview workshop, put your hands, feet and head in this workshop and enjoy the story. 😛

Abby: Where do you live?

Mrs. Selby: I spent some time in McMinnville, Oregon, and Maryville, Tennessee.

Abby: When did you go to school?

Mrs. Selby: TPS started in 2009. I started going to school with my daughter.

Abby: You know?

Mrs. Selby: Science!

Abby: Hobbies?

Mrs. Selby: Gardening, playing with the yardsticks, going around town.

Abby: My father is sick! Why did you decide to teach science?

Mrs. Selby: When my girls go to college, I need something to pass the time.

Abby: What is your favorite science to teach or teach?

Mrs. Selby: That’s a tough question! Maybe biology.

Abby: Biology is fun. Can you tell us about your family? Animals do not exist.

Mrs. Selby: I have a lazy dachshund and two chickens. We started with 8 chicks, but recently we had an “event” and invited 6 chicks to dinner with the kite family.

Abby: Looks like you had a great party. Which Bible verse means the most to you?

Mrs. Selby: My favorite book is Matthew 11:28-29.

Abby: What do you want to see outside the window?

Mrs. Selby: I love watching my chickens drink the koi pond. Sometimes other people get angry.

Abby: This is really interesting. What jokes are people talking about online or in person?

Mrs. Selby: For high school kids, they’re trying to “hack” the GP7.

Abby: What qualities impress your students?

Mrs. Selby: They’re always surprised when I tell them I play Minecraft. Sometimes I look for presents under the tree. Don’t tell my family.

Abby: Wow! nothing! Hahaha ???? What animal do you like the most?

Mrs. Selby: Probably Austria. I want to slow down, stay home and drink hot chocolate.

Abby: Hot chocolate is the bomb. Why is it good to stay?

Mrs. Selby: A student told me she was late because her sister’s chair was potted.

Abby: Haha, that’s great. What about your favorite food or conflict?

Mrs. Selby: I don’t like dark chocolate. I love raw garlic.

Abby: What’s your baby’s name?

Mrs. Selby: My dad named her Pumpkin, my best friend Daisy.

Abby: Most memorable piece of advice?

Mrs. Selby: Carry an extra pair of socks everywhere you go.

Abby: Anything else you’d like to add?

Mrs. Selby: I will miss you all terribly next year and it’s been a privilege and an honor to get to know all the wonderful families at TPS.

Thanks to the great teachers at TPS! Mrs. Selby provides education and fun in and out of the classroom! Bless her as you listen to her lessons and prayers on her journey.
