Meet Isaac Jo: Theology and Worldview Editor

Meet and welcome Isaac Jo, a part-time TPS student who lives in Massachusetts and is clay’s new Theology and Worldview editor! With German 3 (Honors) and Intro to Python as his main classes, Isaac will be completing his fourth year with The Potter’s School and his first year with clay. An inspired modular origami artist, he enjoys using his imagination to make 3D creations out of countless pieces of paper during his spare time. Also holding a deep appreciation for music by Twenty One Pilots, Isaac is an avid fan who finds joy in writing song analyses that are not bound by the rigidity of word count. Pages filled with thousands of words reflect his delight in unpacking meaningful and compelling lyrics. Aside from TOP, Isaac enjoys listening to Sleeping At Last, piano songs, worship music, and metal VGM covers. Outside of the classroom, he explores competition math and pursues his passion as an enthusiastic writer of verse and prose. Additionally, Isaac enjoys the sport of ultimate frisbee—a popular activity his area.

Having attended Worldview Academy Leadership Camp, Isaac has developed an interest in theology and has been actively thinking about his beliefs to cultivate a deeper understanding of his faith. It was this aspect of his life that kindled his desire to become clay’s Theology and Worldview editor. Isaac especially connects with Romans 7:24-25: “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.” Because it illustrates the believer’s struggle, this passage serves as one of his favorite verses.

But in contrast to his persona as a theologian, Isaac possesses a quirky side. He will say “good morning” at any time of the day, because “metaphorically, it is always morning because change is always happening, and the morning is always good because God ultimately brings it about.” Lastly, aside from his eternal need for Christ, Isaac says that he wouldn’t be able to live without air conditioning.
