Meet Hope Berry: Spotlight Editor

She hails from San Antonio; she loves to hike; but she hates noisy bathroom hand dryers. Welcome to the staff, Hope Berry!

If you’re ever trying to find Hope, she’s probably outside. Whether skiing in the mountains of Colorado, competing in tennis tournaments, or biking around town, Hope is always active (after a cup or three of coffee). She hopes to tour Alaska on foot and see the Northern Lights. She’s usually running, hiking, or exploring, but she also enjoys a peaceful moment of watching the sunset over the mountains. Hope loves to capture the views that she sees through beautiful photography.

When this rising junior isn’t tramping through fields and forests, she is probably logged into StudyPlace, writing papers and taking quizzes. As this is her sixth year at TPS, Hope knows the ropes and isn’t afraid to take advanced classes. Her course load includes Intro to Computer Programming, Anatomy and Physiology, and Precalculus. Hope will definitely keep busy this year, but she is excited to get back into the routine of school while taking classes that she enjoys.

In addition to her schoolwork, she will be working at clay as the Spotlight Editor. Last year, she had the privilege of being the Cooking Columnist, sharing recipes like this Lemon Meringue Pie. She decided to switch things up a bit this year and become an editor, as she is passionate about giving feedback and revising in a positive way. Her love for reading and determination to improve makes her the perfect person for this position. She is looking forward to forming bonds with her columnists as they all grow in their writing.

Amidst the stress of a new school year and new editor position, Hope finds comfort in God’s everlasting love for her. She shared that her favorite verse is Zephaniah 3:17, “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
