14 Questions with Morgan Batt

I look through my list of girls who had previously agreed to be interviewed again. My eyes land on Morgan Batt, an eleven-year-old girl in sixth grade. She lives in Georgia, United States and is in her second year with TPS.

“Hi Morgan! So nice to have you here with me. For the first question, what classes are you taking with TPS this school year?” I begin the interview.

“I am taking Writing Fundamentals 5, Pre-Algebra Honors, and Life Science. So far, I enjoy them all but I especially love writing.”

“Very nice! What are some of your favorites? You may list out anything that comes to mind.”

“I LOVE love love Pomsky dogs.” Morgan gushes, “They’re a mix between a Pomeranian and a Husky. My favorite class is my writing class. Hmm, I love dogs in general.”

“Dogs are great, aren’t they? What are some of your hobbies?”

“I love to draw and do art stuff and play the piano. I mainly play the piano since it is already something I have to practice, but I still love to do art. I draw mainly dragons and plants, if you’re wondering.”

“How fun! Now, what are three words that describe you the most?”

“Talkative, weird, and creative.”

“And… what are some things on your bucket list?”

With slight hesitancy, Morgan answers, “Uhh…not to die and live a good life? I’ve never thought about that to be honest…I don’t know! Be successful, maybe?”

“These are totally valid things that can be on a bucket list. What are some of your talents?”

“I can draw flowers fairly well, if I do say so myself. Piano…if that counts. These are hard questions for me,” she ends with a small laugh.

I chuckle lightly, “Completely relatable. Do you have any siblings? If yes, how many?”

“I have two brothers, one younger and one older. Some people may know Hunter Batt? Yep, he’s my older brother.”

“For the seventh question, do you have any embarrassing moments that you would like to share?”

“One time at theater practice, I went to grab something and then I was running back to my seat and I missed a step, and in front of EVERYONE I fell and hit my leg on that step. I caught myself…but I was a little bit embarrassed. Anyways, next question!”

“Okay, moving on. Do you have any nicknames?”

“Two of my friends who don’t do TPS anymore call me Muffin Head. But other than that, I don’t really have a nickname.”

“What is the best gift you have ever received?”

“Best gift? I think Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”

“Oooh, that’s awesome! What are some of your pet peeves?”

“Things that are out of order. An encyclopedia at the library not in order? I would fix it,” She simply states.

“Please don’t come and look at my bookshelf then. If you had the chance, what would you tell your younger self?”

“I would’ve said, ‘You need to jump onto the trampoline and go over the vault and into the foam pit’ because I never did that when I was doing gymnastics.”

“Is there anything you would like to tell your friends who are reading this interview?”

Laughing, she replies, “I would totally say this… ‘HIIII, y’all are great friends, stay safe!’”

I grin, “Of course you would. Do you have any final or random thoughts before we end this interview?”

“I was happy to do this! I hope everyone has a great day!!”

“Oh wait! I forgot! Hold on, let’s fill up a quick MadLibs in honor of Thanksgiving which is around the corner,” My apparent memory loss decided to reveal itself today.

“I would love to do that!” she exclaims.

And so, dearest readers, the image attached below is the hilarious MadLibs that Morgan and I filled out together. May you have a wonderful laugh and November ahead you.
