The youngest of five siblings, Millie has been homeschooled for her entire life and was lucky enough to attend TPS for the past three years. Her favorite class at TPS has been Spanish with Señor Poortenga. Millie is also the infamous creator of the rabbits in Mr. Mailand’s Government and Economics class last year. She loves reading, hanging out with friends (something she would do all of the time if she could), biking, writing poetry, and hiking. In the fall, Millie plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler to pursue a Spanish major.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a “squirreloligist” (I think I wanted to study squirrels), a candy maker, and a detective.
Favorite Bible Verse:
My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, which reads “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” I love knowing that no matter how bad life gets, God’s plans will always be the best, and I don’t need to worry about anything.
Advice to Younger Students:
Don’t ever, ever, ever, ever procrastinate. I know that you have heard this advice a lot, but still, don’t ever ever, ever, ever procrastinate.
