Meet Sakshi Kolli, our wonderful 2020-21 News editor! A seventeen-year-old senior hailing from San Jose, California, she has taken classes with TPS for four years. This year, you can catch her in AP Statistics, AP Computer Science, AP U.S. Government, and AP Psychology. Leaning more towards math and science, she is currently in the process of applying to colleges within California and plans on majoring in data science or math. As a first-time clay editor, she chose to join the News section in order to combine her love for both writing and news, and she hopes to utilize her role in order to present unbiased facts about specific events to clay’s readers.
Outside of school, you can find Sakshi enjoying a myriad of activities from music to sports. She has played piano for about twelve years and is also an avid soccer player. Additionally, she participated in speech and debate for five years, rounding out her list of activities. In her free time, she enjoys watching the Lord of the Rings movies and reading old classics.
Sakshi’s favorite Bible verse is Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (ESV). Sakshi certainly seems to apply this verse to her own life with her kindhearted nature.
We look forward to having Sakshi as our News editor this year! She will undoubtedly be an amazing addition to the clay staff this year, and we can’t wait to see what incredible ideas she brings to the News section!
