Christine is one of the most delightful people you’ll ever meet. Full of contagious laughter and smiles, she shines as brightly as the sun in Orlando, Florida, where she lives. A veteran TPSer and clay editor, you’ll find Christine behind the scenes, editing the humor column for the second year running.
This is the last year of Christine’s TPS career. She’s been a regular around The Potter’s School for eight years now, and at clay for three, contributing to the humor section before becoming its editor. Her favorite class over the course of her time at TPS was Government and Economics with Mr. Mailand, her favorite teacher. Outside the hallowed halls of online school, Christine has been playing tennis since age 11, enjoys tatting (making lace), and is a proficient violinist with her orchestra. The talent of her orchestra was celebrated by The Piano Guys, who, when touring in her area, asked Christine and several of her fellow orchestra members to play in their concert… twice.
As a person, Christine radiates love and light. She’s a bubbly ISFP: although perhaps a little shy at first, once you get to know her, you’ll have gained an encouraging and uplifting friend. She loves to read; some of her favorite books are Anne of Green Gables, Pride and Prejudice, and Persuasion. Her favorite season is fall because, in Florida, it’s a nice balance of temperatures and a welcome relief from the scalding summers. Aqua or mint is her favorite color, and her favorite music to listen to is anything of the contemporary Christian genre, although the band For King and Country holds the top spot in her heart. Christine’s favorite part about her position as the Humor Editor is watching writers discover and develop their style over the course of their careers with clay.
Christine’s future is full of exciting possibilities. She currently volunteers at a local hospital, helping with patient needs and requests, because she’s interested in pursuing a career in nursing. She would love to study at Liberty University in Virginia, where her older brother is currently enrolled. The field of nursing intrigues her because it’s hands-on. Christine would love to work with kids every day, and thus seeks to specialize in pediatrics. This year, she’s taking eight classes at TPS; you’ll find her in AP Statistics, AP Psychology, English w. Literature and Composition, Spanish 4/5, Theology Matters, Health and Wellness, and Personal Finance.
An appropriate way to wrap up Christine’s introduction is to share her favorite passage of Scripture, Psalm 1. The first three verses read “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” Christine commits her life to the Lord, and His blessing rests on her pursuits. clay is fortunate to have her for on last year!
