TPS Seniors 2020

Elisabeth Thuemmel – TPS Senior 2020

As a TCK (third culture kid), Elisabeth has spent her eighteen years between Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Michigan. Living in locations with limited access to English-speaking schools, TPS has been a huge blessing to her and her seven siblings. She’s thankful for the many friendships TPS has provided her with and all the excellent classes she’s taken. Elisabeth appreciates how encouraging her teachers have been and how they all begin class with prayer. This year, she particularly enjoyed Integrated Business Applications with Mrs. Pharr, where Elisabeth became proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and learned some of the basics of business. She’s now considering studying business in college but wants to first take a gap year to help on the home-front and to pray more about her future.

In her free time, Elisabeth can be found playing her violin, keyboard, or guitar. She also enjoys sports such as swimming, biking, and ice-skating.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When younger, I always wanted to be a teacher — specifically one with TPS because of the annotation rights I’d get on GP6. ๐Ÿ™‚

Favorite Bible Verse:

I’ve never had a specific Bible verse I liked above the rest, but one of my many favorites is Philippians 4:6-7, which says, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (ESV).

As a natural worrier, I’ve had to come to this verse for encouragement so many times in my life. I’ve had to choose thanksgiving rather than worry in so many situations, and God has faithfully given me His perfect peace.

Favorite Catchphrase:

“Pride comes before the fall”

I still like to say Lizzy, because it reminds me of the

younger siblings and their friends (my daughters). Hard to

of you, just keep your eyes on the Lord and listen to His voice.
