TPS Seniors 2020

Christina Bantseev – TPS Senior 2020

When Christina first became home schooled in Grade 8, she didn’t understand why she was being home schooled and what God’s plan was for her life. Now as a senior graduating from TPS, she can see God’s hand working through her life as a home-schooler and student at TPS. Christina is an ambivert who loves hanging out with her friends, learning, dancing, and baking.
Throughout high school, when Christina was not occupied with school, she was often found volunteering or dancing. Her dance school was a big part of Christina’s community and support throughout high school, and she cherishes her memories with all her dance friends. Last year, she completed her Advanced Foundations RAD ballet exam. She also spent many summer weeks at camp volunteering as a counsellor or in the kitchen.
Throughout her time at TPS some of her favourite classes included, Biology with Ms.McKeeman, Psychology and Counselling with Dr.Rathmell, Precalculus with Mrs.Crosby and Physics with Mr.Middleton. She’s also learned so much about writing and literature from all of her English teachers, Ms.Gaines, Mrs.Troxell, and Mrs.Wood, and each one of them has helped her grow in her literary analysis and writing skills.
Christina has been accepted to Nursing at the University of Ottawa, in the city where she lives. It was a long journey to deciding what to study after high school, but one day God gave her peace about studying Nursing and she hasn’t looked back yet. One day she would love to help others struggling with mental health and study the brain. TPS has taught her immensely about hard work and that God has plans for you that are bigger than your grades or a test. She would like to thank all her friends and classmates at TPS who have helped her out or just made her laugh throughout the past four years.
What did you want to be when you grew up:
At one point in elementary school, I wanted to be a vet because I love animals, and I live on a farm. But I also had a dream of becoming an actor, and it’s on my bucket list to be in a movie one day even if I’m just an extra.
Favorite Bible Verse:
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:11,12
Favorite Catchphrase:
“Life with God is not immunity to difficulties, but peace within difficulties” -C.S Lewis
