Meet Ainsley Lemon, clay’s brand-new Class Spotlight columnist! When she’s not writing for clay or working on school, you can find her re-watching Spider-Man: Far from Home, reading fiction novels such as The Book Thief or the Harry Potter series, creating a new painting or drawing, and participating in drama productions. Her favorite subject is English, in which she enjoys writing fictional pieces and short analytical essays on books. Ainsley grew up and still resides in Columbus, Ohio, with her twelve-year-old little sister Addison and her two loving parents.
For Ainsley, a favorite childhood memory is visiting her grandma’s house with her cousins. She said that they would always run into the bedroom, grab all the toys they could hold, and spread them all over the carpeted floor of the family room. While their parents chatted and her grandmother cooked, the kids would play house or take care of their dolls. As she enters her sophomore year, these times still hold a very special place in her heart because they allowed her to spend time with her family and play her favorite games with her cousins.
One of her favorite Bible verses is Psalm 91:4, which reads, “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” She loves this verse because it makes her feel safe and secure, and she loves the image it presents: baby birds nestled up against their mother, finding refuge under her wings. Ainsley cannot wait for the coming school year, and could not be more excited for her year at clay!
