Fifteen-year-old Hannah Wong is a sophomore from the Southeastern Michigan area and is looking forward to being a Bible Spotlight Columnist for clay. Hannah has been participating in TPS for four years. You can find Hannah in Mrs. Yagel’s AP English Language and Literature class. Hannah discovered clay two years ago through the Student Forums at TPS and wanted to have some experience in writing. She applied to be a Girl’s Spotlight Columnist and she loved it! This year, as the Bible Spotlight columnist, she hopes to use the life lessons God has taught her through her writing.
Besides doing TPS and clay, Hannah enjoys spending time with her three brothers and her family. She has been playing the piano for nine years and loves playing classical music. She also enjoys photography, painting, and frisbee. Though she is a very busy teen, she uses her quiet time to read her favorite book, The Chosen by Chaim Potok.
Hannah loves spending time in God’s word and learning more about Him. Her favorite Bible character is Jesus, and her favorite book of the Bible is Isaiah. Her favorite Bible story is about the woman who anointed Jesus at Simon’s house (Mark 14:3-9). Hannah’s favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Hannah’s long term goal is to use her gift of writing to become a teacher, and she is also considering teaching piano. She hopes to share God’s love to the kids she will teach. We are so pleased to have Hannah back on our team again and we look forward to what she has in store for clay.
