Zach is an awkward, silly, not-so-funny-but-is-always-trying, self-conscious, somewhat illiterate, daydreaming, technology-obsessed, cheap, broke, Christian introvert that loves talking to people. Even when he says the wrong things that make people stare at him funny. If that happens, he’ll usually just tell others about it so that no one else will feel as bad for being awkward like him. =)
As for what he plans to do with his life, he is terrified to even think about it.
However, he is planning to go to New Mexico State University (which is in his current town) to get a degree in Computer Science, while maybe trying to keep the doors open in the first year in college for some kind of music degree, for either trumpet, piano, or voice.
Zach’s hobbies include photography, talking with random TPSers online, listening to those four-hour-long playlists of lo-fi hip-hop jazz whachamacallits on Youtube, talking with those awesome TPSers online, obsessing over whether to do homework or talk with more TPSers about procrastinating on homework, and reflecting on how awesome God is for letting him pass those classes in which he barely turned the homework in before the deadline, and then reflecting on how awesome those teachers are for giving him gracious grades that he would never give himself, but, you know, he won’t argue about it!
As can be seen in his wonderful senior photo, Zach gets very excited when he sees rainbows.
Number of Years Taking TPS Classes: 7
By perseverance the snail reached the ark. – Charles Spurgeon
Makes me smile every time!
Favorite Bible Verse:
You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. – Ecclesiastes 11:9
This is seemingly happy but then grows quickly depressing.
Buuut, it also tells you to trust in God. Anything I try to do in my own power, to give me happiness, usually ends in either failure or depression. True happiness will come from God, not necessarily the awesome gifts He’s blessed us with.
Advice to the Younglings of TPS:
Try to enjoy your school. Yeah, it can be hard and boring, but this is life, so you might as well enjoy learning cool stuff. If nothing else, try to have fun trying to find the fun in whatever homework project your working on. And don’t give up! If worst comes to worst and halfway through the semester you crash and burn…for one, you wouldn’t be the first, and two, you’ll just learn how great God’s grace really is. I’ve experienced this at times. 🙂
