David loves spending time outdoors including fishing, hiking, and camping. He also likes to hunt, and sometimes hunts with a slingshot. He loves being physically active. This includes football, running, and weight lifting at the YMCA, where he has gotten to know a wide variety of people. David has an interest in playing football in college despite homeschooling in high school. However, a knee injury may have affected his ability to do that. He is an Eagle Scout whose project was building an artificial reef for a local reservoir. David also was Senior Patrol Leader for his troop, which involved planning and running the meetings and campouts.
He also enjoys joking around. He writes and films comedic sketches, which are occasionally funny, with his two sisters. After reading about all the musical accomplishments of his fellow TPSers, David would like to add that he once was able to play “Mary Had a Little Lamb” on a recorder.
David is still unsure where he will be in the Fall of 2019, but possibilities include Cal Poly SLO, George Fox University, and Community College (to save money). He has an interest in the sciences, and hopes to work in fish and wildlife management, as a personal trainer, as a physical therapist, or something else God may have for him. Despite the uncertainty, David knows God has a plan for his life. David would like to thank God, his family, Señora Kelly, and all his classmates for their help, guidance, and friendship along the way!
Number of Years Taking TPS Classes: 3
The Poem “If” by Rudyard Kipling. I couldn’t fit the whole thing in here so here’s my favorite part:
“If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!”
Favorite Bible Verse:
I like this verse because it reminds me that no matter what happens in this crazy world, God will always be with us through it all.
Advice to the Younglings of TPS:
Follow God. Learn when to work hard and when to have fun. Take a Spanish class with Señora Kelly.
