Carina has been a student at TPS for 5 years and has greatly enjoyed all of the people she’s met and classes she’s taken along the way. Living in many parts of the world over the course of her lifetime, Carina has a heart for adventure and enthusiastically takes hold of many opportunities that have come her way. This has led to a passion for both medicine and Africa and Carina hopes to combine those and someday serve as a Pediatric Physical Therapist serving in Africa. To start out on this big new adventure, Carina will attend The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque next fall and do her undergraduate work in Emergency Medical Services hoping to go on to graduate school to complete a Doctor of Physical Therapy. So, if you find yourself in some remote region of the world someday and see a small person with a huge smile on her face repelling out of a helicopter on a rescue or teaching a young child how to walk, be sure to meet her. Carina will turn any form of work into fun and you’ll find yourself having a grand time doing whatever the task is at hand.
Number of Years Taking TPS Classes: 5
“And will you succeed? Yes you will indeed! 98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.” I have always loved Dr. Seuss and his wonderful advice for life. This quote I always thought of when I received a not so great grade. It reminded me that the goal is not to get a 100, but it is to continue learning throughout all of life, and to get back up and try again.
Favorite Bible Verse:
Isaiah 41:13 “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you. This verse has always comforted me during trialing times. It reminds me that I have someone that will never leave me, I have someone who will comfort me in times of sadness, and rejoice with me in times of happiness.
Advice to the Younglings of TPS:
Have fun in class, use emojis wisely, (which could be a lot or a little, I used about 30 every class), and don’t be afraid to get on mic or guess at an answer.
