Meet Emma Grob: Poetry Columnist

Meet Emma Grob! Emma, also known as Little Mouse or M&M, will be doing this year’s poetry column. In her column, she will be writing poetry, writing about poets, and writing about different types of poetry.

Emma lives in Wilmington, Delaware and has been living there for a year. Interestingly, her family is also trying to get a Swiss passport, since her dad was born and raised there. Emma has moved four times, and the last place she lived was in Pennsylvania. As a freshman in high school, she enjoys reading, playing board games or card games, horseback riding, and training her two dogs, Sunny and Ellie.

This is her second year at TPS and she will be taking Biology, Worldviews, Chinese 2, and Photography. Though Chinese is Emma’s favorite class, it takes up a lot of time since she is a perfectionist. Emma speaks a variety of other languages including four years of German, a little Spanish, and of course, English. Emma also attends a co-op and uses a writing course from another program.

Emma says that one of her pet peeves is “when someone thinks they’re right but they’re obviously wrong and keeps on insisting and insisting.” Her favorite color is blue, and if she could have a dream blanket, it would be fluffy and made out of teal colored chenille.

Emma plays piano, and sometimes she even plays with her youth worship band as well. She listens to a lot of rap, but enjoys almost any kind of music except for country music and jazz.

Finally, Emma’s favorite Bible character is Job because she feels like she can relate to him. Her favorite verse from the Bible is Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
