The Morning

Verse 1:

They see a happy, carefree person but inside his mind is screaming

They don’t see that he wants to stop breathing

He thinks it’s the only way out he just wants the pain to end

He lets his friends think that he’s fine, but it all pretend

He holds it all in afraid of what his friends would think if they knew

He knows that it’s destroying him, but he thinks it’s the right thing to do

He’s ashamed of his past, and the pain and regret continually haunt him

But nobody knows the truth. He hides it from everyone

He puts on a smile and masks the emotions that are swirling within

He laughs and acts like he’s okay, but it’s all pretend

It’s all a fake front just to cover his pain

But the constant weight is driving him insane

He is afraid that he will reach a breaking point or that someone will find out

And so he shuts the world out

He shows no emotion and doesn’t care what happens to himself

His whole world turns fake as he starts to hide from himself

He tries everything that the world says will bring relief

And now he’s starting to lose sight of the truth because he’s caught in a fake belief

Chorus:

And he says “what do I believe in?

Yeah I’ve been trying to find some feeling

I just want something to end my pain

But everything I’ve tried has left me feeling the same

I can’t keep going, yeah I can’t keep going

I’ve been searching for the morning

So what do I believe in?

I’ve been trying to find some feeling. ”

Verse 2:

The weight on his mind is so heavy, and he feels like he can’t keep it in no more

Yeah he’s been eaten away right down to the core

But he doesn’t know who he could trust with his secret

And he believed that even if he told someone that they wouldn’t believe it

When one day he met a girl and his feelings for her grew

And in a world of constant pain, this was something new

He trusted her a little but as his friendship grew so did his trust

So he started sharing some of his secrets, and it turned out for the best

She talked him through the pain and throughout it all she pointed to one thing

And so because of her he found the truth which he finally believed in

And while the pain was still there he had found a relief

And where all the other things had failed this didn’t yeah it was permanent relief

He still keeps a fake front because he doesn’t think that it’s something everyone should know

But he’s finally free of his pain and had come to terms with his past and has found his peace now

Chorus:

And he says “what do I believe in?

Yeah I’ve been trying to find some feeling

I just want something to end my pain

But everything I’ve tried has left me feeling the same

I can’t keep going, yeah I can’t keep going

I’ve been searching for the morning

Yeah, I’ve finally found the morning.”

Verse 3:

So now he’s trying to turn his life around

And it’s all because of the truth that he found

Yeah it was that truth that set him free

That took away his pain and gave him his peace

It gave him hope when the thought that there was none left

And erased the pain and regret that made him feel less

And while his life still had its downs it was on a steady incline

Because he was finally at peace on the inside

Yeah it’s crazy how one small thing

Can change someone’s life so drastically

How a simple belief

Can bring someone everlasting peace

But sometimes it takes the worse of storms to bring out the brightest of colors

And one day you might wake up, and all the pain will be over

You just have to persevere and work towards that day

And when it seems you’re going nowhere you just have to believe that where there’s a will, there’s a way

So take a stand and believe

And one day you will find your relief
