What is Love?

Verse 1:

Looking around, seeing single girls impregnated
Don’t even know who the father is
He left after his desire sated
They’re feeling helpless
They’re broken inside
They’re hollow
You can see it in their eyes
Many fear the tomorrow
They fear what their friends will think
Afraid that they’ll be outcast,
And so they start to sink
I wonder if they knew that
There’s more to love than sex
I wonder if they ever knew what true love is
That it isn’t about going from one guy to the next
I wonder if they ever thought: there’s gotta be more than this
That there’s gotta be more meaning to life
Most of them were innocent
They were just trying to get it right
They were searching for what love is,
But they got caught up in a lie
Now they’re at the bottom asking why

Trying to hold on, but you’re out of control
Trying to move on, but you’ve lost all hope
Don’t know where to go, no place to call home
Left in this world, you’re feeling all alone
Left to live a life you don’t even know
All because of a growing evil

Chorus:
What is love?
It’s something I want to know
But it seems like everywhere I go
I see love distorted
Love reworded
What is love?
What is love?
So many different things this world calls love
What is love?
It’s something I want to know
But it seems like everywhere I go
I see love distorted
Love reworded
Just a four letter word?
Or is it something more
Yeah I want to know
What is love?

Verse 2:

Boys going around having sex with random girls
No respect for who she is, they just want to feel good
Then they go on to the next cause that’s their world
They destroy girls lives cause they think they’re cool
I wonder if they realize that it’s all a lie
That’s there’s more to love than getting a girl pregnant
That there’s more to life than living for a high
That’s the world isn’t just black and white
Yeah there’s color: Blue, green, red, yellow
Yeah if you really look, the world ain’t so mellow
Life isn’t as shallow
As hooking up for a night and living in the down low
Yeah there is meaning and purpose in everything
And there’s love if you know where to find it
If you know it’s true meaning
And those who couldn’t find it–most of them were innocent
They were just trying to get it right
They were searching for what love is
But they got caught up in a lie
Now they’re at the bottom asking why

Chorus:

What is love?
It’s something I want to know
But it seems like Everywhere I go
I see love distorted
Love reworded
What is love?
What is love?
So many different things this world calls love
What is love?
It’s something I want to know
But it seems like everywhere I go
I see love distorted
Love reworded
Just a four letter word?
Or is it something more
Yeah I want to know
What is love?

Verse 3:

True love is a sacrifice
Shown through Jesus Christ,
Who gave His life
So we could spend eternity in Paradise
True love is forgiveness
And with God as my witness
I will share this message of hope to the hopeless
This message of light in the darkness
I’m here to show you that there’s a meaning in life
That there’s more than fake love and quick highs
There’s more to love, yeah there’s purpose in this life
Cause after the high you just plummet to the bottom
But I’m telling you there’s a way out
You can break the cycle that’s tearing you down
Jesus can give you a way out,
Just take his hand
He’ll pick you up and tell you it’s alright
You were searching for what love is,
And now you’ve found it
And you’re not at the bottom
No, you’re flying high

Chorus:

What is love?
It’s something I want to know
But it seems like everywhere I go
I see love distorted
Love reworded
What is love?
What is love?
So many different things this world calls love
What is love?
It’s something I want to know
But it seems like everywhere I go
I see love distorted
Love reworded
Just a four letter word?
Or is it something more
Yeah I want to know
What is love?

  2. You did an awesome job on this! It’s REALLY good….

  3. Dude, love how your so direct. Some of us would be more afraid to take the direct way and to show the world how sin is affecting us all. You did it man! Rock on!
