Victoria Marinov, age seventeen, is excited to come back to clay for her third year. Describing herself as passionate, creative, and dreamy, Victoria’s personality, as for MBTI, is INFJ. This stands for Introversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Judgement. This quiet and pensive girl aspires to be faithful to her calling as an ambassador for Christ wherever she goes and in whatever she does. One of the many Bible verses that inspires her is Daniel 12:3 which says, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”
Victoria has visited much of Europe, including Bulgaria (where she was born), Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. With a dozen noisy parakeets and a golden retriever, Victoria and her family, including an older brother and sister, have their hands full. Victoria’s idea of a perfect vacation would be relaxing by a Mediterranean beach with a few friends. If one wishes to irritate her, she would load the dishwasher inefficiently. If one wishes to delight her, she would talk about the wonders of tea, lavender, navy blue, and European desserts. Victoria’s list of favorite desserts include doughnuts, cheesecakes, snickerdoodles, and custard.
Victoria loves to bike, sing, write, blog, swim, and read. In a bookstore, her friends will most likely discover her at the fantasy, sci-fi, or speculative aisles after Victoria scans the clearance section. Victoria has a long list of books she enjoys; some of her top favorite novels are Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson, Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman, 12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, and A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. Victoria enjoys watching movies such as A Beautiful Mind, Inception, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Rogue One, as well as a couple of superhero films like Captain America and Doctor Strange. Her favorite actor is Benedict Cumberbatch.
With Maya Angelou’s words in mind—”pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you”—Victoria aims to double-major in business and cinema in college and later work in the film industry as a director. Until then, this shooter-for-the-stars will continue her creative writing column from last year, From Page to Pen. Victoria Marinov will focus on learning from other writers, books, and films to inspire young TPS writers to develop their talents towards excellence.
