Maia Kill: Athlete’s Life Columnist

Meet Maia Kill! (Pictured on the right with her older sister Halle.) As an ENFJ-T, this pleasant young girl lives in Portland, Oregon with her two sisters, two brothers, and pet dog. She will be spending her third year with TPS and first year with clay. This year, she will be taking only one class, namely Pre-Algebra with Mr. Ream. So, why did she want to join this magazine? “I wanted to try something new, and I love to write and share with others,” she answered. Being a soccer athlete, ballet student, and a lover of football, it’s no wonder why Miss. Kill loves sports. Due to her fondness for soccer, it is no wonder her favorite athlete is none other than the famous Carli Lloyd.

After asking her some side questions, Maia admitted that she enjoys Harry Potter, Narnia, Pollyanna, and Anne of Green Gables. If the Harry Potter world were real, she would like to take her place as a Ravenclaw. She also explains that if she could live anywhere in the world, she would choose Scotland or Germany, two very practical and pleasurable choices. Since everyone enjoys their food, I decided to ask her one realistic food question and one bizarre question. Her favorite food genre? Fruit–especially watermelon! But would she rather eat snails, fish heads, alligator, or chicken feet? Definitely snails.

As a devoted Christian, Maia Kill tells me that her favorite verse is Romans 8:38-39, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” She explains that she delights in this verse “because it always reminds me that no matter what, God loves me, and there is nothing I can do to change that.”

I dearly hope that you find Miss Maia Kill as engaging as I did. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about her passion for soccer and sports as well as her love for Scotland and Germany, entertaining books, and above all, God.
