A girl from Northern California, Annette Gustafsson is a junior but graduating student at The Potter’s School. Though American-born, Annette has both Swedish and Greek blood. She lives on a small farm with her parents and four sisters, along with two horses, two dogs, five cats, twelve hens, and two roosters. She has a big heart for reading, writing, playing the piano, and would consider herself goofy, kind, and a bookworm.
Annette has read over at least 119 books throughout her life; some books that have shaped her include A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and The Bible. While reading, Annette wishes that she could break the habit of rubbing her eyebrows so much that it seems they are going to fall off. People would tell her she resembles Luna Lovegood in character, but she would say Rory Gilmore resembles her more. Her favorite quote comes from The Help, one of her other favorite books “You is kind. You is smart. You is important.” Annette’s fandoms also include Harry Potter, Sherlock, and Marvel. If she had a wardrobe that could lead her to any other world, it would be the Pirates of Caribbean because of the cool ships and pirates.
As an INFJ, Annette wishes to someday visit London and admire all the Sherlock and Harry Potter places there. She loves steak, salad, and has a big fear of sharks. Annette’s favorite Disney character is Cinderella, and the most absurd nicknames someone has ever given her would be Mcfriday. Her favorite Bible verse comes from Psalms 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Just like a Rory Gilmore, Annette decided to join Clay Magazine not only because of her love for writing but because she would always write novels unfinished and wanted to try journalism type writing. Annette will be the Advice Spotlight Columnist this year with The Potter’s School, so check out her upcoming articles!
