Anna Jacobs: Cartoonist

Anna Jacobs, 17, a The Potter’s School veteran, is taking Composition and Pre-Calculus this school year. This is her first year on the Clay Magazine staff, and she is the creator of the cartoon It’s A Wild Life, a cartoon centered around animal characters and their antics. Anna loves animals, her favorite being a horse.  She adores science, or at least biology; she’s not a huge fan of physics or chemistry. Her dream is to pursue a career in biology research or physical therapy.

For all those bookworms out there, Anna suggests James Herriot’s series, Christy by Catherine Marshall, and Cheaper By The Dozen by Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. For fun, Anna has many hobbies, she enjoys to jam out on the guitar, draw animals, play basketball and soccer. She is passionate about her volunteer work at Equine Assisted Therapy, or EAT, which uses horses to assist disabled kids. Her favorite musical artists are Scotty McCreery, Jon McLaughlin, and she most recently discovered Anthem Lights.

This year, Anna began her summer competing at a national speech and debate tournament in Tennessee, with a Christian-homeschool speech and debate league, Stoa. She then spent a week in China, in and around the area where she was born, working and giving back to an orphanage, before finally heading off to Washington state.

Anna has two brothers and one sister, and lives with their dog, Tucker, in St. Louis, Missouri. Interestingly, her favorite food is hamburgers with blue cheese.

Despite watching it way too many times, Anna’s favorite movie is Secretariat, followed by A River Runs Through It, and the romance Far from the Madding Crowd.  She dreams of being able to travel more, having a horse of her own, and one day becoming a mom and starting a family.

Please welcome The Potter’s School veteran and Clay Magazine newcomer, Anna Jacobs; a animal-loving junior, gracing your life with her delightful cartoons.
